How Lo Living in Color was Born

House of Lo began as a quiet way for me to stay grounded. A way to reclaim joy and process pain through creativity. But it quickly became something more. A mission. A movement. A place where pain turns into purpose and handmade meets healing.

Every piece I make carries that story. No two are alike, just like healing never looks the same for everyone. Whether you are keeping it for yourself or giving it to someone who needs it, you are holding something made with care, color, and intention.

About Lo

Hi y’all! I’m Lauren, the founder of Lo Living in Color, dog mom of three, cat mom of one, survivor, creator, and lover of all things bold, handmade, and meaningful.

This brand began the moment I realized I was truly alive. Not just surviving, but finally living again after years of struggling with suicidal depression, anxiety, panic attacks, body image issues, bullying, and deep loneliness. I ended middle school by filing a restraining order against someone my own age. I was completely isolated and hurting more than anyone knew. That trauma followed me into adulthood and eventually led to a divorce and a complete rebuilding of everything I thought I knew.

I found my way back slowly. Through the support of friends who never gave up on me, the medication I needed, and the grace of God, I started to come back to life. Healing showed up in unexpected places. In paint. In pets curled up beside me. In community. In color. In songwriting. And in the small but powerful joy of stringing beads together when everything else felt like too much.

A Movement for Mental Health

Lo Living in Color is more than a jewelry brand. It is a movement. It is a way to speak out for mental health, create space for honest conversation, and show up for ourselves and each other.

Part of my mission also lives inside prison walls. I write music with incarcerated men and women across the country, sitting beside them in their cells and helping them turn their stories into songs. I have never been incarcerated, but I choose to be in those spaces because I believe in the healing power of creativity and human connection. That work is sacred and it fuels everything I do.

Welcome to House of Lo

House of Lo exists to turn pain into purpose through handcrafted jewelry, art, and creative expression. Rooted in a personal journey of healing from suicidal depression, our mission is to spark joy, raise awareness around mental health, and remind people that life—like art—is messy, beautiful, and worth living in full color. Each piece is designed to tell a story, start a conversation, or bring a moment of light to someone who needs it.

Our shop includes:

  • Alive in Color – Bold, beaded word jewelry that champions mental health.

  • Colorfully You – Custom pieces that celebrate individuality.

  • The Charm Bandana – Bandana-style necklaces with meaningful charms.

  • Fur-Ever Joy – Necklaces made for (and inspired by) beloved pets.

  • Bright Side Cases – Personalized phone cases designed to express who you are.

And for those drawn to quiet elegance, we offer The Silver Lining Collection — a fine, elevated line featuring antique spoon rings, metal jewelry, hand-stamped jewelry, and wire-wrapped natural stones. This collection honors resilience with subtle beauty: Handmade. Hopeful. Refined.

Why it Matters

Every piece is made with love for someone who needs to feel seen, encouraged, and reminded that they are not alone. Whether it’s for yourself or a gift for someone you love, your jewelry becomes a tangible reminder that light still lives here — and so do you.

It’s not just a tag line. It’s a declaration. A celebration of life after pain. And a reminder that the best stories are the ones we choose to live out loud.

Alive. With purpose. In full color.
